This year's Retreat is nothing short of amazing. Not only do we get to be together as a community; we have a program and speakers that will provide an unparalleled opportunity to learn and share.
This year will be very special, because not only do we have Dr. Donna Hicks presenting on embracing dignity in our school communities; we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Global Dignity organization, a nonprofit that works in over 80 countries around the world. The Whole School Leadership Institute is joining this important organization, and it will be a celebration!
We're returning to the beautiful Merriweather Lakehouse in Columbia, MD (near DC and Baltimore). It's the perfect venue for our gathering. Here is the link to make your hotel reservation. Celebration of “Global Dignity” 20th Anniversary
Global Dignity is a world-wide non-profit organization in over 80 countries. Through their work, millions of children and communities have been learning about this foundational understanding of humanity and its power to create peace. It is now beginning its 20th year and our Montessori world is in the process of joining this initiative. Global Dignity encourages understanding, compassion and love as an antidote to hate and intolerance. This 20th anniversary celebration will include global leaders who are attending to support us in this new movement as part of our Montessori work.

The Retreat begins with a reception on Thursday, July 17 at 6:30 pm. It ends on Sunday, July 20 by noon. The Baltimore airport (BWI) is a quick drive to the Retreat site.
The Retreat is followed immediately by an optional seminar: Strategic Planning for Montessori Schools. You can learn about the seminar here.
The Whole School Leadership Institute is a nonprofit organization serving all Montessori trainings, backgrounds and settings.
